Trampled By Turtles - Stars and Satellites

Trampled By Turtles is a bluegrass band out of Duluth, Minnesota. They are well known for their up beat, fast tempo songs. Some of there influences are; Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Townes Van Zant. There music is very unique. They include fast guitar, banjo, and violin. The vocals are very powerful, the lead singer, Dave Simonett has a very unique voice, which separates TBT from most bands.

There new album, Stars and Satellites is going to be released on April 23rd, 2012. This will be there sixth album out. Some of there hits include: "Wait So Long" and "Victory" off of there fifth album, Palomino.

The band has put out some mini videos that are going to lead up to the release there new album. They include explanations of songs and how they make and create songs. These videos give the listener more of an inside look with the making and recording of songs.

Here is a video of "Alone" off of there new album:

In other TBT news they are now on tour. They are going all across the US and will be stopping in the Big Apple at Webster hall the night of April 10th. I will be attending this concert so I will have a follow up on this blog in a month and half or so!

Keep on jamin!

105th Millrose Games

This past weekend I attended the prestigious Millrose games. The Millrose games is a Track And Field that take place once a year in early to mid- February. In past years it would take place at Madison Square Garden on a 160 meter track. If you don't know anything about tracks, the standard indoor track is 200 meters long. Tight turns as it is, a 160 meter track has even tighter turns than a 200 meter track.

I had the pleasure of attending this jam packed, hot, sweaty, and crazed 5 hour event. At the end I felt like I attended a Led Zeppelin concert (well at least what I feel like a Led Zeppelin concert would put you through.) However, all was worth it! I got to see so many studs of the Track And Field world. A couple of world champions and a national record holder. Just another day in the Office.

The main reason I was there was to see my teammate and friend Leonard Korir. Leonard, or what everyone knows hims as; Lenny ran his ass off! Awesome to watch, very talented, hard working, and devoted runner. Proud to say I know him.

I am not going to bore you with all of this typing. I will show you a first hand video I took and edited. Very quick, nothing to notable just something I through together really quick for this blog.

Watch Lenny Rip The Track Up Here!

Keep on groovin',
Mike.

Top Five Super Bowl Ads

Super Bowl ads are half the reason people watch the game. Everyone enjoys a good laugh after a bad set of downs or bad kick off. That is where the commercials come into play. To take the edge off and relax for a minute or two.
Not sure why anyone would want to spend up to 3.5 million dollars for 15 seconds of a commercial, but I am glad to be watching them. Which, leads me into the top 5 Super Bowl ads.

Coming in at number one is:
