One: A Film By Givin
One is a progressive snowboard film that has both, street and back country riding. It is a super rad film that was released in September of 2011. It was the first film Givin has put out. The master mind behind this video is also one of the stars in the film. He goes by the name of Keegan Valaika. He got a little help with the technical stuff from: Jon Fransic, Aaron Hooper, and Doran Laybourn.
This film is a grass roots flick that shows both the lifestyle of the riders on and off the hill, or rail depending on the rider. This video showcases both up and comers and established riders. To name a few riders that stood out to my liking; Forest Bailey, Shayne Pospisil, Keegan Valaika, Mason Aguirre, and Wyatt Stasinos to just name a few!
This film was a very low budget film compared to many snowboard movies that have come out in the past year, such as: Art of Flight. Although they do not use cameras that cost more than a Chevy F-150. However they used what they had and made it look great! I am a proud owner of One and I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
Here is the trailer to this rad movie! I hope you are as stocked on it as I am!

Trampled By Turtles - Stars and Satellites
Trampled By Turtles is a bluegrass band out of Duluth, Minnesota. They are well known for their up beat, fast tempo songs. Some of there influences are; Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Townes Van Zant. There music is very unique. They include fast guitar, banjo, and violin. The vocals are very powerful, the lead singer, Dave Simonett has a very unique voice, which separates TBT from most bands.
There new album, Stars and Satellites is going to be released on April 23rd, 2012. This will be there sixth album out. Some of there hits include: "Wait So Long" and "Victory" off of there fifth album, Palomino.
The band has put out some mini videos that are going to lead up to the release there new album. They include explanations of songs and how they make and create songs. These videos give the listener more of an inside look with the making and recording of songs.
Here is a video of "Alone" off of there new album:
In other TBT news they are now on tour. They are going all across the US and will be stopping in the Big Apple at Webster hall the night of April 10th. I will be attending this concert so I will have a follow up on this blog in a month and half or so!
Keep on jamin!

105th Millrose Games
This past weekend I attended the prestigious Millrose games. The Millrose games is a Track And Field that take place once a year in early to mid- February. In past years it would take place at Madison Square Garden on a 160 meter track. If you don't know anything about tracks, the standard indoor track is 200 meters long. Tight turns as it is, a 160 meter track has even tighter turns than a 200 meter track.
I had the pleasure of attending this jam packed, hot, sweaty, and crazed 5 hour event. At the end I felt like I attended a Led Zeppelin concert (well at least what I feel like a Led Zeppelin concert would put you through.) However, all was worth it! I got to see so many studs of the Track And Field world. A couple of world champions and a national record holder. Just another day in the Office.
The main reason I was there was to see my teammate and friend Leonard Korir. Leonard, or what everyone knows hims as; Lenny ran his ass off! Awesome to watch, very talented, hard working, and devoted runner. Proud to say I know him.
I am not going to bore you with all of this typing. I will show you a first hand video I took and edited. Very quick, nothing to notable just something I through together really quick for this blog.

Top Five Super Bowl Ads
Super Bowl ads are half the reason people watch the game. Everyone enjoys a good laugh after a bad set of downs or bad kick off. That is where the commercials come into play. To take the edge off and relax for a minute or two.
Not sure why anyone would want to spend up to 3.5 million dollars for 15 seconds of a commercial, but I am glad to be watching them. Which, leads me into the top 5 Super Bowl ads.
Coming in at number one is:

Winter X Games 15
Winter X Games returns to Aspen Colorado. Starting on Thursday January 26th, going until Sunday January 29th. This year is the 15th year that the X Games have been hosted. With it growing in popularity in year, many riders and fans come out to watch it. With events such as; both Men and Women's Snowboarding and Skiing Super pipe, Slopestyle, and Snowmobile freestyle to name a few.
In the Men's Snowboarding Slopestyle there were tricks that the X Games have never seen before. These tricks were thrown down by the likes of; Torstein Horgmo, Sage Kotsenburg, Mark McMorris, and Peetu Piiroinen. All would be stepping the level of riding to the next level with variations such as double cork's, 1260's, 1080's, and many rail combinations such as 270 boradslides, and tricks involving gapping features to landing on the end of rails and other features. Piiroinen would take the Bronze medal home holding his ground throwing tricks such as the double dork. Taking the Silver home would be Kotsenburg. Taking home the Gold would be the young Mark McMorris, using tricks such as; frontside bluntslide to 450 out in the technical rail section. Then in the four hit jump line pulling a Cab double cork 900, a frontside double cork 1080, a double "wildcat" backflip, and to seal the deal a backside 1260.
With the the Men's super pipe about to begin at 9:45 the heavy hitters in this competition include the favorite, Shaun white, Luke Mitrani, Ryo Aono, Matt Ladely, Greg Bretz, and Louie Vito to name a few. The expectation of this heavy hitting event is very high. With tons of doble corks and combinations that could make a grown man cry. These tricks are serious. Stay tuned to ESPN for all of your results.
